STRINGENT RULES

The suspension came barely hours after the government warned that matatu saccos involved in the crime would be blacklisted.

The new stringent rules were announced by Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru after an agreement with the concerned players in a bid to curb stripping and sexual assault on women.

The rules were agreed to by the Matatu Owners Association (Moa), the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Police Service, the Criminal Investigations Department, Maendeleo ya Wanawake and the Devolution ministry

Matatu owners will also suffer as their vehicles will be stopped from operating while drivers risk losing their licenses if members of staff are found culpable.
