Three Members of Parliament allied to Cord have been suspended from the House over chaos that broke out in Parliament on December 8, last year.
National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi on Wednesday suspended Suba MP John Mbadi, Shinyalu MP Silverse Anami and Homa Bay womenโs representative Gladys Wanga for gross misconduct during a debate on the Security Law (Amendment) Bill.
The suspended MPs are barred from the precincts of Parliament and the House business committees for four days.
The MPs will miss House sittings as well as committee participation during this period.
A motion to suspend Jubilee MPs Moses Kuria, Joseph Kiuna, Muthomi Njuki, Ngunjiri Onesmus, Elijah Langat and Alice Ng’ang’a was defeated when MPs voted against their suspension.
During the December chaos,ย Mbadi was spotted snatching the Order Paper from chairman of the Committee on Security Asman Kamama and tearing it up while Wanga sprinkled water on Deputy Speaker Joyceย Laboso.
Politicians from both Jubilee and Cord had been blamed for the incident.
