Medic: Moses Kajwang’ faked injuries
The last week before Homa Bay residents cast their ballots in a by-election to replace the late Senator Otieno Kajwang’ has seen a flurry of activity, allegations and counter allegations as candidates hunt for votes.
A doctor now claims that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Moses Kajwang’ has been faking injuries to win voters’ sympathy.
Dr Kevin Osuri of Homa Bay Level Four hospital and who claims to have treated the younger Kajwang’ says the late senator’s brother faked injuries before he was brought to him for treatment following chaos that broke out at the burial of Homa Bay County Public Service Board (CPSB) Secretary Agnes Mackdwallo in Kochia village last week.
“Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang’ and Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga came to my office and persuaded me to place a bandage on Kajwang’s ear to show that he was injured,” Dr Osuri told the Press Sunday adding:
“They also wanted me to give him a neck brace and crutches but I declined because it was against my professional ethics. But this prompted TJ Kajwang’ to grab the neck brace and place it on his brother’s neck. Unfortunately, he placed it upside down. He did not find the crutches. They then went out and addressed the press. I know my life is in danger but Kenyans should know the truth,” he said.
Kajwang’ has denied the allegations.
“These are people who lived in the Kanu era who said that the late Dr Robert Ouko also shot himself before setting his body on fire,” he said.
