Video:Boniface Mwangi Nominated For Major Award Despite Scorn From A Section Of Kenyans
Lately, activist Boniface Mwangi has come under heavy criticism after a well edited video was released on the social media claiming he and other activists were actually involved in the teargassing of the Langata Primary School kids when they demonstrated to protest the grabbing of their playground.
Boniface Mwangi came out with his own version of the story, denying the allegations and terming them a government propaganda aimed at denying Kenyans right to know the truth.
Despite all the happenings, Boniface has been recognised internationally and has been nominated for a major award, alongside five others from across the globe.
The 2015 Honesty Oscars have the category of the Best Activist in a Leading Role and this is where Boniface has been nominated to contest for the award with Niger’s Ali Idrissa, Luxembourg’s Antoine Deltour, Nepal’s Sharada Bhusal Jha and Afghanistan’s Kimberly Motley.
The award ceremony will be held on the 23rd of this month.
