A 79-year-old woman in Othaya, Nyeri County on Thursday died after her house caught fire.

The grandson of the deceased said he heard noises of someone trying to open the main gate around 2am. When he went out to investigate, he found the grandmother’s house engulfed in a fire, and was unable to reduce her due to the intensity of the inferno.
