Afro-pop music has never ever been as soulful since the discovery of the boy-band Sauti Sol. The indisputable kings of pop can sing you to sleep with their love ballads and equally rock your Friday night with their club bangers.
Sauti Sol has since been in an uphill battle to garner International recognition which seems to be an endeavor blossoming quite well. Things have surely been shining brightly upon the group as they recently brought the world to a stand still when they got the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama to burst out a move to their hit song, ‘Sura Yako’ pulling the ‘lipala’ dance move, at State House Nairobi.
Well the light doesn’t stop shining there as the band’s picture with Obama dancing made its way to The White House, on West Wing close to the Oval Office. Does the journey get any better than this? Well for the talented boy band it does.
The band will be making its way back to the States for yet another performance since their tour, that will see them share the stage with international artistes such as Beyonce, Cold Play , Ed Sheeran among others. The event is dubbed ‘The Global Citizen Festival.’
