The woman whose husband allegedly chopped off both of her hands now has a reason to smile.

This is after she received a pair of prosthetic limbs in South Korea. The entire operation was sponsored by LG Electronics, reportedly to the tune of Sh10 million. The tech company had initially funded her treatment at Kikuyu Hospital.

The state of the art artificial limbs operate under suction technology and are powered by electronic motors that use batteries.

Doctors estimate that the prosthetics will enable her perform up to 80% of all daily tasks.

While in South Korea, Mwende was given a city tour of Seoul, together with Kenyan students from Hanyang University who are on scholarship for their masters. Here are some more pics courtesy of LG Electronics Eastern Africa.
