Paul Kobia arrested over abduction of Congolese businessman
Controversial businessman Paul Kobia has been arrested by police for abduction, and is locked up at Kilimani police station..
He was arrested at his house in Kindaruma, Kilimani Wednesday night.
It is alleged Kobia abducted Congolese businessman Bachard Londole.
Kobia claims that the man owed him Sh40 million.
Police said Kobia went to Londole’s house at Kindaruma road and threatened him with a gun.
Kobia is also alleged to have assaulted the man who is admitted at Nairobi women’s hospital with head injuries.
Police have confiscated Kobia’s firearm.
In 2015, Kobia was linked with the death of Fidel Odinga, son of opposition chief Raila Odinga,claims which he denied.
Kobia said on Wednesday that the claims published on social media sites and some newspapers are “false and malicious”.
The businessman with interests in gold is a licensed firearm holder who once shot a motorist on Limuru road, prompting the withdrawal of his firearm licence.
