Chief Justice David Maraga on Tuesday transferred 19 judges of the High Court in a countrywide reshuffle.
Judge George Odunga has been transferred to Machakos with Justice John Mativo set to to replace him at the Judicial Review Division.
The transfer will likely attract attention as Justice Odunga was at the centre of a political storm between Jubilee and NASA legal battles as he was accused of favouring the opposition with his judgments.
Leader of Majority Aden Duale had threatened to introduce a motion to discuss the conduct of the judge, accusing him of being biased.
In 2017, the Judiciary Performance Management and Measurement Evaluation report showed that Judge Odunga’s Judicial Review division at the Milimani Law Courts, was the most efficient and fastest in hearing and determining cases.
Other judges affected in the reshuffle include;
Milimani Principle Justice Richard Mwongo leaves Milimani Law courts to Naivasha High Court while Lady Justice Roselyn Aburili moves to Bungoma.
Lady Justice Pauline Nyamweya moved from Machakos to the Judicial Review Nairobi while Judge Joel Ngungi has been moved from the High Court in Kiambu to the High Court in Nakuru.
Lady Justice Maureen Odero moved from Nakuru to Nairobi’s Civil Division while Lady Justice Lydia Achode moved from Family Division Nairobi to the Eldoret High Court.
Lady Justice Jackline Kamau moves from Voi High Court to Nairobi’s Civil Division while Lady Justice Wilfrida Okwany moves from Kisii to the Constitutional and Human Rights Division in Nairobi.
Judge George Kimondo has been moved from Eldoret to Kisii High Court while Judge Joseph Karanja moves to Homabay.
Lady Justice Hellen Omondi amoves from Homabay to Eldoret while Judge Boaz Olao is transfered from Kerugoya to Bungoma.
Judge Samuel Mukunya moves from Bugoma to Kerugoya while Judge Abida Ali Aroni moves from Bungoma to Family Division Nairobi
