Nairobi MCAs reject Sonko’s nomination of Miguna for deputy

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 17 – Nairobi Members of County Assembly have vowed to reject the nomination of Miguna Miguna as Deputy Governor once his name is brought to the floor of the house for approval.

Led of the Majority Abdi Guyo contended Miguna Miguna is not a member of Jubilee Party where Governor Mike Sonko belongs and therefore he can’t deputise him before being cleared by the Party.

Guyo added that Miguna has not regained his citizenship and therefore his nomination was made in contravention of the party statutes.

Sonko tapped Miguna for the job on Wednesday, hours after the self-styled general of the National Revolution Movement (NRM) cancelled his trip to the country after the government declined to grant him unconditional entry or issue him with a Kenyan passport as ordered by the High Court.
