67 Kenyans in US prisons over immigration misconduct

At least 67 Kenyans are detained in the US over immigration and customs misconduct.

Data released by America’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Detainees in June shows that 14 Kenyans are inmates in Texas, seven in Georgia, six in Minnesota and four in Washington DC.

The numbers put Kenya in 9th position among African countries whose citizens are held in US prisons for flouting customs and immigration regulations.

Cameroon leads with the highest number of inmates having 294 of its citizens in custody.

Eritrea comes in second with 257, Nigeria (250), Somalia (205), Liberia (135), Guinea (113), Ghana (103), DRC (101), Gambia (83), and Ethiopia has 69.
