Voting is underway at Kamukunji constituency amid claims of irregularities from the ODM candidate Ibrahim Ahmed alias Johnny.
Ahmed claims the interim independent electoral commission is biased. On Thursday morning, the candidate was engaged in a bitter exchange with IIEC officials outside Eastleigh high school.
Raila brings Kamukunji to a stand still with Azimio rally
Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Sunday led took his campaigns to Kamukunji grounds in a hunt for votes ahead of August 9 polls.
There were speculations that Raila might name his running mate on the Kamukunji rally, but his communication team issued a statement that the naming will be done on Monday which is the deadline.
The ODM leader was accompanied by Nairobi gubernatorial Aspiring Polycarp Igathe, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris among others and Nark Kenya leader Martha Karua, among others.
The leaders allied to Raila also drummedย up support for him in belief that he it the best presidential candidate.
Raila again talked on his plan for the jua kali people sayingย the private sector must be the major employer.
Raila said the Jua kali sector can be formalised, a proper shade put up and businesspeople given funds to run their businesses.
He said the sector has employed more than 16.4 million Kenyans.
“This consists of more than 86 per cent of the Kenyan workforce that contributes over 34 per cent of our GDP. ”
