Mitt Romney had a campaign plane, secret service detail, and motorcades just weeks ago. He was spotted pumping his own gas in California looking unlike the man we saw on the campaign trail.
A photo, trending on Reddit, shows former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, pumping gas at a station in La Jolla Calif., looking disheveled and very much unlike the well-groomed multimillionaire politician we knew during the campaign trail.
The photo was snapped by Redditor “mkb95.” He claims the grainy image actually shows the former presidential candidate pumping gas at a local gas station. He is dressed in a rumpled shirt and equally rumpled looking pants. His hair looks tousled as he stands with a frazzled expression. He fills his car tank.
“mkb95” writes: “Mitt Romney at my local gas station… looks tired and washed up.” He adds: “I talked to him for a good three minutes. This was while he was filling his tank. I guess he’s moving to one of his houses in the town I live in. That’s La Jolla.”
NY Daily News comments that Romney, who always looked “buttoned-down almost to a fault on the campaign trail,” looks “the worse for wear” in the photo.
The Hollywood Gossip describes the former presidential candidate as looking “slightly frazzled.” It comments: “Gone is his familiar, perfectly slicked-back coif from the campaign trail.” Nevertheless, it suggests that he may not have been as “disheveled or upset as the image might suggest.”
Redditor mkb95 claims he chatted with the former presidential candidate briefly. After this, they both filled their cars and left the station.
Redditor mkb95 is not the only one who has seen Romney at the same gas station. Global Grind reports Twitter user @thegirlss, also claims to have seen Romney at the station
