It was a great day for Kenyan children in Stratford, London on Saturday 1st December, 2012 when a Kenyan- American Book Author Esther Ndegwa Brown launched her Children’s story book ‘Lala Salama-Azizi and the Dancing Monsters’ along with her Swahili learning series ‘Say It in Swahili, sema kwa kiswahili’. The colourful ceremony took place at St. John’s Church in Stratford, UK. Azizi kids aim is to bring cultural enrichment to children through story telling and interacting with the Swahili language.
The story books are gently entwined with the Swahili language and the ‘Say It in Swahili’ series teaches children the Swahili language with beautiful pictures that children will enjoy. In attendance was the Member of Parliament Hon Mike Gapes who affirmed, in His speech the importance of education through cultural exposure. The author lives in the state of Philadelphia, USA and she passed here on her way to Kenya.
