Kamba MPs protest on Raila- Kalonzo deal

Saturday December 1, 2012 – Majority of Kamba MPs are opposed to the proposed political marriage between Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
On Friday, a Wiper Democratic Movement National Executive and parliamentary group meeting at Lavington, Nairobi, ended in acrimony after a group of MPs walked out of the meeting protesting the Raila-Kalonzo alliance.
The meeting was initially called  to endorse a Kalonzo- Raila deal in which  the Wiper and ODM  will share the stakes on a 50-50 basis in the government  in addition  to Raila naming  Kalonzo his running mate.
The MPs who opposed the Kalonzo –Raila deal include;  Yatta MP Charles  Kilonzo,Philip Kaloki (Kibwezi),Charles Nyamai (Kitui West), Peter Kiilu (Makueni),Gideon Ndambuki (Kaiti) and Victor Munyaka (Machakos Town).
Those who supported the alliance includes; Johnstone Muthama (Kangundo), David Musila (Mwingi South), Mutula Kilonzo (Mbooni), Dan Muoki (Mwala) and Itwiku Mbai of Masinga.
Speaking to the press after the walkout, Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo warned that the VP will find it hard to work with Raila with whom he has been having a sour relationship with in the past.
