The popular Kenyan Artist,ย King of Mugiithi from Kenya Mr. Mike Rua was denied entry at Heathrow on Thursday afternoon 28th March, 2013. He has been to the UK several times before. Mike Rua & his Drummer Muhamed will not be performing their Mugiithi UK Easter Tour in Luton andย Manchester scheduled for Easter weekend as they have been denied entry to the UK at London’s Heathrow Airport by the UK Border Agency.
The organizers of the tour are deeply sorry to anyone who might have made prior arrangements to attend the event, and to the Venue Operators Tripple Em Foods and Club Elysee plus the Sound Engineer who had also prepared their services for this Tour.ย One of the organisers had this to say: “Mike Rua’s entry denial is beyond our control and our appeal could only be made next week Tuesday which of course would be too late. However, the event will still go on in Luton with free admission at Tripple M Foods with Djs Josh Paps and Djcymoh Cy.” the officials confirmed.
Rua had a work permit officially given from Kenya but after exchange of words at Heathrow with the immigration officers he was denied entry. According to reliable sources Rua, as it is his usual character displayed a don’t care attitude to the officers. Answering questions without due care whether he would be admitted or not. Rua was overhead commenting: “Kwani nini iko hapa, si baridi tu.” He returned with the evening flight back to Kenya.
