Former Dallas resident Susan Kihika has been elected as the new speaker of Nakuru County.

Susan Kihika beat her competitors who were all male ย in the Nakuru County Assembly Speaker contest.

They included former Molo MP Macharia Mukiri, Zack Njeru, Njenga Mwangi, Caleb Nyamwange, Steve Orina, and Boniface Mwaura.

The daughter of former veteran politician Kihika Kimani was elected Speaker after garnering 36 votes to 19 polled by Macharia Mukiri her closest challenger.

Ms Kihika returned home last year to contest a parliamentary seat formerly held by her father.ย She was however unsuccessful in her quest to capture the seat.

She is the founder of Kihika Law Firm. She studied political science and law in America graduating in 2006 and thereafter admitted to the Bar Admissions of Texas.

She also studied at the Southern Methodist University School of Law, Dallas, Texas, J.D., 2006, University of North Texas where she got a B.A. in Political Science.

She is a member of the TNA party.
