NAIROBI; KENYA: President Uhuru Kenyatta has consoled the family of the Late Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo at the family home in Gigiri, Nairobi.
Present were the Deputy President William Ruto, Head of Public Service Francis Kimemia, Beth Mugo and other leaders; the children and other members of the family.
Uhuru said he was there to remember a friend, a colleague and a brother adding that they had worked together for many years especially during the Kanu days.
The President said the loss is not only felt by the family but also the nation. He pledged to help the family.
The Chairman of the funeral committee Mr David Masika on behalf of the family expressed gratitude to everyone for the support they have so far given and said they have been planning for the funeral from Sunday and they have assigned roles to the family members and friends.
“His Excellency coming here has been very comforting to the family and friends,” said Masika.
He said the late Mutula’s requiem service will be held on Wednesday at Nairobi Chapel and the funeral will be held on Thursday May 9. The family is yet to release details for the place of burial.
