The unveiling of former Garsen Member of Parliament Danson Mungatana as the official spokesman for the Jubilee Coalition has been halted pending the interviewing of two other unnamed candidates for the post.
Mungatana had been announced as the spokesman for the Coalition but TNA Secretary General, Onyango Oloo, halted the process saying instead that two other candidates are also being considered for the position.
Oloo clarified that the candidate who the coalition settles on for the post will be announced in a week after the interviews are conducted. Oloo added that the candidate to be settled on will only handle the political matters of the coalition and not government-related issues. The move to appoint a spokesman for the coalition has likely been necessitated by the intrigues of the coalition.
Recently a faction of the coalition made a push to remove the partyโs chairman Johnson Sakaja arguing that Sakaja being a nominated Member of the National Assembly is barred by the constitution from holding any post in a political party.
