Nairobi, Kenya:ย The secondย East African Communityย heads of state Infrastructure Investment summit will take place on Wednesday in an effort to bolster trade ties and regional integration.
The summit which will be held at the Sarova Whitesands Hotel in Mombasa is a follow up to the first one held in Entebbe, Uganda, in June this year.
Presidentย Uhuru Kenyattaย who jetted back in the country on Tuesday evening (from a tour to Russia, China and United Arab Emirates) will host other heads of state expected to attend the summit among them Presidents Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Pierre Nkurunziza of Burundi and Salva Kiir of South Sudan.
The Uganda Summit hosted by Museveni had Uhuru and Kagame in attendance.
During the meeting, they resolved to include other heads of state in the East African region.
The three heads of state also resolved to strengthen the East African infrastructure network, among other initiatives, aimed at enhancing cross-border trade as well as deepening the integration of the East African economies.
Uhuru called uponย East African Communityย (EAC) member states to move fast and put in place a conducive investment environment that will attract foreign and domestic investors.-standardmedia.co.ke
