A 50-year-old businessman on a mission to buy gold in the Democratic Republic of Congo is reportedly being held in Goma by people believed to be rebels.
John Borre who is also a clearing agent in Mombasa, is said to have been captured by rebels who have demanded money from his family to release him.
Yesterday, the manโs wife, ย Jane Borre filed a complaint with the Foreign Affairs Ministry and requested the government to intervene and have the husband freed.
According to Jane, the husband traveled to DRC on September 26 together with three of his workers to buy gold when they were attacked at Goma area which is the boarder of ย Rwanda and DRC. Borreโs wife also presented a petition to Interpol requesting the police to intervene.
