All of us have been so close to a temptation that we have lost our perspective. It may have involved something as small as a rumor that we knew should not be passed on, but the urge to gossip blocked out our sense of love and good judgment.
Adam and Eve faced a similar problem where they became so preoccupied with the one tree in their garden that they couldnโt see the forest around them. The effect of them falling in temptation is still felt today. However, Godโs goodness is great because He sent His son to die for our sins and the Holy Spirit to walk with us.
When faced with temptation we should seek God with our whole heart, listen to wisdom and resist the devil as we draw near to God. We should fill our minds with the truths of Godโs Word and rely on the Holy Spiritโs moment-by-moment guidance and strength. Remember, our response to temptation will make us or break us.
James 1:12ย “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.โ
