Capital FM reports that Renowned TV Personalities Julie Gichuru and the lovely Kiswahili anchor Lulu Hassan both of Citizen TV were unveiled as the ambassadors of Dettol’s ‘BE A HERO campaign’. The campaign is an initiative by top antiseptics brand, Dettol together with a Non-Profit Organization ‘Save The Children’ which works towards improving the sanitation standards of children in Kenya’s arid and semi regions. They will be responsible for installation of the sanitation facilities.
“The #BeAHero campaign will offer children a chance to fight infection from germs by providing them with sanitation facilities. What is your role? Buy a Dettol product and Ksh. 2 gets donated to the cause.”
Mr Richard Pereirra who is Reckitt Benckiser’s Country Manager had this to say during the launch,
“Through the years, we have implemented school programs focused on teaching children when and how to wash their hands with soap and water. I am glad to note that we have managed to reach up to 1,000,000 children through our schools program. I believe it is now time to focus our efforts on a more critical agenda which involves increasing access to water and sanitation facilities in regions that need them most”.
