Church Drama: AIC Bishop Silas Yego Under A Court Injunction
The High Court of Kenya has issued an Injunction against Africa Inland Church Bishop Silas Yego. The injuction orders him not to interfere or refuse Rev. Christopher Arap Mutai, Managaing director of Biblia Husema Broadcasting from accessing his offices situated at the Africa Inland Church headquarters located in Upper Hill Nairobi. In his ruling which was issued on the 9th of December, Justice Onyancha ordered that Bishop Silas Yego should not through his agents, employees or any person acting on his behalf from in any way or form interfer with Rev. Christopher Arap Mutai and Biblia Husema Broadcasting unitl the case is hard on the 22nd of January.
The case which was filled by Rev. Christopher Arap Mutai and Biblia Husema Broadcasting imanate from 4.7 million Ksh. Which was donated to Biblia Husema ย Broadcasting for the improvement and construction of Biblia Husema Television and Radio. According to CID records, Rev. Silas Yego is accused of withdrawing the money illegally ย and using it for his own personal needs. According to vouchers obtained, the CID discovered that the money was used for personal car, air tickets, restaurants and other personal items.
According to Rev. Christopher Arap Mutai, when he sent elders and requested the refund of the money and after 3 years of efforts to recover the stolen money, Bishop Silas Yego locked him out of his office.
In a new development, Bishop Silas Yego has refused to honor the court order. When the writer went to press, ย the offices of Africa Inland Church and Biblia Husema Broadcasting were locked up. According to the accountant of Biblia Husema Broadcasting a Mr. Mutinda, after receiving the high court orders, Silas Yego ordered the closure of BHB and Africa Inland Church headquarters. According to the employees, Bishop Silas Yego ordered the staff home. Rev. Christopher Arap Mutai confirmed that the bishop has refused to honor the court order.
