Sonko visits victims, ask for secret photos of police harassment

As always,Nairobi senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko swang into action and visited those who are undergoing police screening atย Kasarani safaricom Stadium. His action is positive and should be supported by all. Here is his message.

I visited our brothers and sisters who are undergoing police screening at the Kasarani safaricom Stadium. I donated food stuffs, blankets, sanitary towels, lessos, mineral water, medicine, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other basic needs. I support the on going fight on insecurity and we must give our security personnel adequate co-operation, but again I condemn any sort of harassment & manhandling of citizens irrespective of there tribe or religion,in case of any harassment by the police, I urge you to secretly take a photo and send it to me via whatsapp for action to be taken. Let us avoid blame games and unite together as a country in fight against terror and insecurity in our country, all we want is peace. God bless Nairobi, God bless Kenya. United we stand divided we fall.

Going through the news whether through the television, radio, newspaper or e-news, we come across many stories that are frightful and can cause worry in our lives. However, as children of God, we can hold on to His word where He tells us not to fear.

Sometimes though, we find ourselves living out our lives like frightened lambs in fear and anxiety. When Jesus said we should not fear He meant that we are to put our total trust in Him. The opposite of fear is faith meaning when we have Faith in God, we are letting go of our anxieties and worries and choosing to fully depend on God.

Whenever we find ourselves falling in the pattern of being fearful, let us proclaim Godโ€™s word in our lives. If we find ourselves prone to being fearful quite often then we need to take practical action. This is by memorizing Bible verses that encourage us not to fear and to learn how to trust in God. Remember, the perfect cure for fear is to trust in God.

Joshua 1:9ย “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.โ€
