REMORSEFUL ONYISO APOLOGISES TO WIFE IN A PAID ADVERT

Former Harambee Stars goalkeeper Francis Onyiso has sensationally apologised to his wife through a paid advert in a local daily hoping it will persuade her to forgive him.

The couple, who live together in Nakuru town, began having problems two weeks ago that resulted into quarrels.

In an exclusive interview withย NairobiNews, ย Mr Onyiso refused to go into the details of the problems, only saying it is โ€œpersonal and between the two of themโ€.

Mr Onyiso is a Sergeant in theย 81 Tank Battalion of Kenya Defence Forces.

In the advert onย Starย newspaper, Mr Onyiso asked his wife Janet Aoko Owino to forgive him for the pain he had caused her and the rest of his family.

I, Francis Onyiso, take this opportunity to apologize to my beloved wife Janet Aoko Owino for the pain I have caused her and the family. I ask for forgiveness and promise never to repeat again, the advert stated

The two have been married for 20 years and have three children.

Mr Onyiso revealed toย NairobiNewsย that he made the grand romantic gesture to convince his wife that he was serious.

โ€œWe have sat down and talked over it. I ย am confident that we shall be able to work through our problems,โ€ Mr Onyiso said.

On why he chose to go public with the apology, he said he was convinced that the use of the media would go along way in making the message big and convincing.

โ€œI donโ€™t think itโ€™s a big deal advertising on the newspaper. My aim is just to show my wife I love her and to say sorry over the matter,โ€ he added.

He said he paid Sh2, 000 for the advert.

Mr Onyiso,42, made his debut in the Kenyan Premier League in 1992 for Ulinzi Stars a club he played for until he retired in 2005.

He made his debut for the national team in 1996 and went on to become the first choice keeper for Harambee Stars up until 2005 when he retired.

He played for Kenya in the Africa Cup of Nations in Tunsia where kenya won one game and lost two.

Early this year, he was appointed as interim coach for Ulinzi Stars before Robert Matano took over the post with Onyiso as his deputy.
