Kenyans led by deputy president William Ruto and first lady Margaret have wished President Uhuru Kenyatta a happy 53rd birthday.
“Darling, you are a loving husband,a role model daddy to the kids & a great President to all Kenyans #HappyBirthdayUhuru,” wrote Margaret.
“Mr President, this was dictated by the kids. ‘We just wanted you to know that you’ve always been a great dad; even now, when you have a much bigger family, embracing the entire Nation. You inspire us all the time. We love you. Happy birthday.’ See you at the finish line,” reads a message from Uhuru’s children.
Ruto’s candid message to his boss drew admiration from many on Social Media.
“Boss I recall that when we were elected, you age was 50+1, which was an excellent omen for Jubilee Alliance,” Ruto said in a card on social media, referring to their win in March 2013, Uhuru was 51.
“From birth, you have walked step by step with our country, and are now leading in maturing it’s promise. Your successful delivery of the jubilee promise will be a magnificent jewel in Kenya’s crowning glory. You are now at the prime of life, where the energy and ambition of youth meets wisdom and experience. I wish you a happy birthday full of joy and blessings. May you have many, many more.” William Samoei Ruto.
