Governor Mutua meets the team handling the New Year’s Eve concert
Machakos the place to be on New Year’s Eve: Machakos County is set to host one of the biggest New Year’s Eve concerts in the country to usher in 2015 in style
This was after Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua launched the Macha New Year’s Eve concert that will be held at the Machakos People’s Park.
“Machakos will be among cities showcased by the international community to be seen all over the world as an example of ushering the New Year,” he explained.
“We will have similar concerts in Sidney in Australia, Tokyo in Japan, Dubai in the United Emirates, London in the U.K, New York in the U.S and we will have Machakos in Kenya representing Africa, so we are very honored,” he said.
He said the three-day concert that will run from December 31, 2014, to January 2, 2015.
Guests attending the concert will enjoy variety of entertainments lined up to mark the beginning of the New Year.
According to Mutua, the concert will be phenomenal with far ranging selected entertainment like music, air shows, skydiving, camping and among others fashion show.
Children will also enjoy games that will be showcased in the family fanfare during the three days.
The governor also assured people attending the concert of maximum security.
He also suggested alternative roads to ease traffic to ensure smooth flow of cars to and from the Machakos People’s Park.
”The Government of Machakos County has taken adequate measures to ensure the event is a success including beefing up security. I encourage Kenyans attending the event to use various routes to the venue so as to avoid traffic snarl up on Mombasa Road. These alternative roads include-Thika Road through Kithimani then Kitui highway to Machakos; Kangundo Road through Koma then Machakos; Konza through Katumani then Machakos among others,” he explained.
