Jubilee MCAs in Nairobi county yesterday said they will not support a motion to impeach Governor Evans Kidero.
Cord MCAs plan to impeach Kidero on grounds that he is not performing and he is disloyal to ODM.
Minority leader Abdi Guyo said, however, Jubilee will seek dialogue to iron out contentious issues.
โWe will not be party to that. We will root for dialogue as President Uhuru has always said. We will not agree to be used as a rubber stamp,โ he told the Star on the phone yesterday.
Karen MCA David Mberia said once the assembly reconvenes on Tuesday, they will table an impeachment motion against Kidero.
โKidero has done nothing for the county. When the Langโata Road Primary School land was grabbed, the governor kept mum and only spoke after everybody else had spoken,โ he said.
โKidero is actually disinterested in serving Nairobians and itโs time we got serious as MCAs and removed him from office.โ
Last week, majority leader Elias Otieno, a close ally of Kidero, asked him to resign from ODM and seek reelection on a different party ticket.
Kidero supports Philip Okundi of Maendeleo Democratic Party against Moses Kajwangโ of ODM in the Homa Bay senator by-election to be held on Thursday next week.
Guyo said, however, Kidero is free to support whoever he wants in Homa Bay.
