President Uhuru Kenyatta is set toย preside over Kenya Day and launch a new international brand campaign in Italy.
Uhuruย and First Lady Margaret will leave for the official visit on Sunday afternoon, said State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu.
Esipisu said aย mini-marathon and a cultural day are some of the activities expected in Milan during Kenya week.
He said the campaign developed by the Tourism ministry, that will be launched during the Milan Expo, will include the activation of a new digital content portal and supporting social media platforms.
“The portal and the platforms are designed to be the focus for all international tourism and investment enquiries,” he said in a statement to newsrooms.
“The introduction of the new brand, campaign and portal will bring all of the ministryโs existing and future campaigns together to tell Kenyaโs story with one shared voice.”
Uhuru will alsoย hold bilateral talks in Rome with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, who visited Kenya in July.
He will further hold a business forum to offer Italian and Kenyan communities a chance to explore opportunities for joint trade and investment ventures.
The expo is a primary tourism-promotion event which Tourism CS Phyllis Kandie will also attend.
