Robert Alai’s brother found in mortuary after missing for four days

Blogger Robert Alai is mourning the death of his brother who was knocked down by a motorist last Thursday at Kinoo stage on the busy Waiyaki Way in Nairobi.

Alai said the body of Tom Alai was found at the City Mortuary after a frantic four-day search.

โ€œThe person who knocked him down dumped him at a place called Gitaru in Kikuyu town. Kikuyu Police station took him to city mortuary,โ€ said Mr Alai.

The blogger on Sunday took to Facebook to appeal to anyone who might have spotted his missing brother to get in touch.

Mr Alai explained how his brother Tom Alai was last seen on Thursday at Kinoo stage while crossing the road from National Oil petrol station.

โ€œHe was REPORTEDLY knocked down by a speeding motorist while crossing Waiyaki Way. Witnesses report that the motorist then drove off with him claiming that he was rushing him to hospital,โ€ he added.

The family had conducted a search in police stations, hospitals and even mortuaries without any leads to Tomโ€™s whereabouts.

โ€œWe have checked at Kikuyu, Thogoto, St Teresa, Kiambu, Tigoni and KNH without success. Please call 0708-677607 if you have any information about where Tom might be,โ€ wrote Alai in his post.

The bloggers brother was also known as Josi, Odhiambo and Onyango and according to his Facebook profile he was a service engineer at a horticultural automation company.
