Eldoret: President Uhuru Kenyatta has said Kenyans have resolved to live peacefully and the International Criminal Court (ICC) should keep off Kenyaโ€™s internal affairs.

He said the Government should be given room to run its affairs peaceful without disturbing the existing peace in the country.

โ€œThat is why we are telling those people who are trying to incite Kenyans on issues that are long forgotten that we are tired of their interference. Instead of disturbing us, they should go to resolve the conflicts in Syria and Iraq and give us room to move our country forward,โ€ President Kenyatta said.

He added: โ€œWe are appealing to friendly countries to support us in our agenda of consolidating peace and unity in Kenya.โ€

President Kenyatta expressed optimism that just like he overcame the ICC case, Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang will also emerge victorious.

The Head of State was addressing Eldoret residents who turned out in large numbers on Sunday to give him a rousing welcome on the second day of his development tour which also saw him visit Bungoma and Kisumu counties.

President Kenyatta also emphasised that the Jubilee Government has not lost its focus on achieving its twin objective of uniting the country and improving the lives of Kenyans.

He said the Jubilee Government is committed to ensuring that the development momentum that the country has gained is not slowed down by external orย internal disruptions.

Deputy President William Ruto said the Jubilee Government means business in its agenda of uniting and developing the country.

โ€œWhen we decided that we will unite Kenyans, eradicate tribalism and develop the country, we meant business,โ€ the Deputy President said.

He informed the residents of Uasin Gishu County that plans are in the pipeline to construct a dual carriageway from the Eldoret International Airport to the town.

โ€œWith the help of the African Development Bank, we will also construct by-passes to ease traffic jams in Eldoret that have become a nuisance to many motorists,โ€ the Deputy President said.

He disclosed that the Government has set aside Sh400 million to expand the Kenya Co-operative Creameries to benefit dairy farmers in the county, adding that new National Cereals and Produce Board has been directed to enlarge their stores and buy all the maize from farmers.
