Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives Tuesday raided the city homes of former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru, PS Peter Mangiti, former NYS Director General Nelson Githinji and his deputy Adan Harakhe.

Ms Waiguru resigned from the Ministry following public pressure for her to step down over corruption claims in her ministry.

She became the first CS in the Jubilee administration to resign.

SEARCHED FOR DOCUMENTS

On Tuesday, the EACC detectives spent the better part of the morning searching for documents related to the NYS scandal at Dr Githinjiโ€™s home on Riverside Lane off Riverside Drive, Nairobi.

None of the detectives was willing to speak to journalists as they tried their best not be filmed by arriving in vehicles with heavily tinted windows.

Journalists were also ordered to stay several meters away from the gate which was manned by an armed Administration Police officer.

The detectives arrived at around 9am and spent several hours in search of documents as the NYS scandal probe continues.

Several vehicles were seen getting into the homestead, two of them in a white Nissan van and a black Toyota Prado belonging to EACC detectives.

The two vehicles were later driven out of the compound at high speed at about 12:30pm.

Ms Waiguru’s lawyer, Ahmednasir Abdullahi, said three EACC detectives had done a thorough search of her house and picked several documents they were looking for.

He added that Ms Waiguru allowed them to do the search although she was not in the house.
