Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has urged the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leadership to let him be the flag bearer in the upcoming General Election, as he stands the best chance of removing President Uhuru Kenyatta from office.
Speaking at Maasai grounds in Ukunda during a political rally, the Wiper Party leaderย argued that his Opposition counterparts Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangulaย risked their votes being stolen, a situation he firmly believes cannot happen to him.
โIf my brothers Raila and Wetangโula allow me to lead the way, by 12 noon, Uhuru Kenyatta will be out of State House. They are used to stealing Railaโs votes but they cannot do it to me,โ he asserted.
This was in reference to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga’s past complaints that his votes had been stolen in the past two elections.
Kalonzo, who was accompanied by Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan, said he was the remedy to stolen elections as he is immune to vote theft.
The leaders also urged Coast residents to register in large numbers to enable CORD take the leadership of the country in 2017. Senator Omar, told the residents that they couldย liberate themselves from bad leadership if they registered as voters.
Currently, the CORD coalition has not come out clearly on who will be their presidential candidate. However, the coalition’s principals – Raila Odinga (who was its presidential candidate in 2012), Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang’ula are seen as the potential candidates.
