President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Saturday left stranded for more than 15 minutes waiting for state vehicles to pick him in Ghana.
Uhuru went to the country to celebrate its 59 years of independence alongside other heads of state.
“Uhuru and Guinea-Bissauโs Jose Mario Vaz were left standing in the scorching sun,” reported a Ghanaian website .

It was reported that former President Jerry John Rawlings went to keep Uhuru company after seeing him stranded as Foreign Affairs minister Hannah Tetteh “ran around to salvage the situation”.
The website added that the President clearly displayed “displeasure and disgust” before Rawlings walked up to him. State House officials could not be reached for comment.

On March 8 during the independent fete, a Ghana programme mistakenly termed Uhuru the country’s president, causing a stir on social media.
The visit by Uhuru has seen Kenya and Ghanaagree to scale up their bilateral cooperationand exploit all avenues to enhance interactions by its people.

Uhuru and President John Mahama noted that their strong ties date back to the pre-independence period and should not be compromised under their leadership.
