When Moses Kuria told a crowd on Sunday that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga can eat maize, it was interpreted to mean ‘Raila can be shot dead’. Kuria tried to defend himself in subsequent public forums, but the police were not buying his argument.
Now, his police statement has been released online by Robert Alai.

The Gatundu South MP comes up with a very clever explanation of ‘eating maize’.
According to him, he meant Raila will be jailed, with the maize in this case being the food served behind bars. He actually quots Raila himself, when the former PM said that “Those who ate chicken should now eat beans,” meaning they should be jailed.
