The Jubilee party leadership has today declared that it will not endorse any candidate for any position in the upcoming general election.
Deputy President William Ruto who is said to be behind Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwaโs stab at the Nairobi gubernatorial race said the city contest will be open to anyone wishing to battle for any seat.
Ruto who was speaking at Kongasis Primary School in Nakuru County during a funds drive for women groups in the area further ruled out endorsement of aspirants saying that all interested candidates for the various posts should seek votes without relying on ย endorsement from the coalition leadership.
โJubilee believes in democracy and we do not believe in endorsing anybody because it is undemocratic and unfairโ said Ruto
Rutoโs remarks come amid accusations of being the force behind the push for Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa to contest for Nairobi governor.

Wamalwaโs entry into Nairobi politics appears to have split the Jubilee alliance, with a section of Jubilee leaders accusing the coalition leadership of coercing them to support a candidate thereby denying the rest a fair playing field.
Wamalwaโs bid has however drawn backing from various quarters including members of parliament, MCAโs and leaders from his Western Kenya backyard.
