I will not tolerate your ‘bad’ behaviour – Kalonzo tells Muthama

The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential running mate, Kalonzo Musyoka, has launched a scathing attack on Machakos Senator, Johnson Muthama, saying that he tarnished his name when he recently claimed that the Wiper leader fixed his preferred candidates on the party list in the recently concluded nomination exercise.

On May 8, the outspoken Senator accused Kalonzo of standing in the way of democracy by meddling in the primaries, threatening to quit the party and declined to defend his senatorial seat in the coming August polls.

Kalonzo, who was speaking to the press after attending a church service in Mlolongo Sunday, May 21, insisted that he will not tolerate such behaviors shown by Muthama, taking a swipe on him after he said that he cannot continue campaigning for Wiper as he will concentrate on campaigning for NASA presidential flag bearer, Raila Odinga.

“You are either with us or not, you cannot say that you will campaign for Raila and not Wiper because they are one entity and distancing yourself from Wiper means you are not in NASA too,” Kalonzo told Muthama.

The bad blood between the two and cracks within Wiper Party seemed to have been resolved when Kalonzo and Muthama shared the same podium during the funeral of mother to Kitui Senator, David Musila, on Saturday, May 20 but Kalonzo’s latest twist throws everything in shambles.

Kalonzo also cleared the air concerning the move by Wiper to present his name to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as a presidential candidate saying that it is the legal requirement to be followed considering NASA is not a registered party.

He said that the same was done back in 2013 as the then Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) was just a coalition but not a party.
