Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has honored his promise to the Elders in the Kamba land after donating to them a 14-seater Van.
The van that will be used specifically for transport purposes but the Akamba Elders was a pre-election pledge he made.
The elders who had installed Sonko as the leader of the Akamba community had requested for the Van back in July this year.
The Governor took the opportunity to thank the Elders for endorsing him as their leader.
โI thank the elders who have walked the journey with me. I give them this 14-seater van as my apperception and will give them another in due course โsaid the Nairobi governor at his home in Mau hills.
He also promised to purchase a similar van for a group of women dancers who had accompanied the elders.
The chairman of the elders, Boniface Kilonzo thanked Sonko for his generosity and for minding the welfare of the elders.
The elders also presented Sonko with a special staff engraved with the emblem of a lion as a symbol of authority.
