Former nominated MP Oburu Ogingaย has threatened to sue those spreadingย false reports that he recently met Jubileeย leaders to negotiate for a post-election deal with NASA.
Oburu said he will meet his lawyersย today and institute a legal suit againstย those spreading the โrumoursโ.
Oburu also denied reports that heย recently negotiated a post-electionย deal between NASA and Jubilee aheadย of yesterdayโs swearing-in of Presidentย Uhuru Kenyatta.
Oburu, who is the eldest brother ofย NASA leader Raila Odinga, describedย the reports as outrageous, saying theyย were aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
He said he is not a NASA principalย to engage in any talks with Jubilee onย behalf of the opposition alliance.
โIt is not true that Uhuru sent anybodyย to me for the purported discussions,โย Oburu said yesterday.
He wasย speaking on Mayienga FM.He challenged anyone to ask Raila orย NASA co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka,ย Musalia Mudavadi or Moses Wetangula if they are aware of any talks with Jubileeย on a post-election pact.ย Yesterday, the Star reported thatย Oburu met Leader of the Majority inย the National Assembly Aden Duale,ย who reached out to the NASA principalsย through him.
Oburu confirmed he met Dualeย twice. He said the meeting was aboutย the impending vetting of names ofย those to represent Kenya in the Eastย African Legislative Assembly.
The names will be debated nextย week.
Oburu is among those who haveย applied for nomination to EALA.ย He said his meeting with Duale wasย to canvas for his inclusion in the list ofย EALA nominees through the support
of Jubilee MPs.
โYes, I met Duale, Deputy Speakerย Moses Cheboi and Jubilee Chief Whipย Benjamin Washiali over tea. I askedย them to support my candidature onceย it is tabled in Parliament,โ Oburu said.ย He asked NASA supporters to ignoreย the โrumours.โ
