Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday asked opposition leaders not to take hardline positions against their leader Raila Odinga.
Mr Ruto said the meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr Odinga should not be criticised, noting that it was for the common good of the country.
The DP asked Nasa co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula to play a leading role in the country’s unity and the transformation agenda.
“I want to tell those who are yet to join us to come so we can take this country forward,” Mr Ruto said.

Speaking at Njoro African Inland Church in Nakuru County, Mr Ruto said: “The journey to unite Kenyans began in Nakuru with President Kenyatta and I in 2013. What happened on Friday was a culmination of that effort of bringing Kenyans together.”
The DP said the Jubilee administration is ready to work with all leaders with the aim of transforming the country.
“I want to assure you we will unite as leaders to fulfil the Jubilee manifesto,” he said.
He was accompanied by Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui, his Nyandarua counterpart Francis Kimemia, Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, MPs Kuria Kimani (Molo), Charity Kathambi (Njoro), Martha Wangari (Gilgil), Joseph Tanui (Kuresoi South), Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town West ), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Kinuthia Gachobe (Subukia), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), among others.

Mr Arama urged opposition leaders to work with the government. “We want the remaining ones to join us so that we can focus on development together,” he said.
Mr Kimemia said Jubilee has fulfilled its 2013 pledge of uniting the country and ensuring peace prevails after elections.
“We thank the President and Mr Ruto for fulfilling their promise that Kenyans will never fight again because of political competition,” he said.
Mr Kuria welcomed Mr Odinga’s decision to work with the government, and unite Kenyans to end political division.
