A Legacy Remembered: Celebrating the Life of Bishop Dr. Josiah Thuku Kambutu
1st Anniversary Memorial Service – June 3rd, 2018
House of Fellowship Church of God, Springfield, VA
One year ago, the House of Fellowship Church of God and the wider faith community bid farewell to a beloved spiritual leader, mentor, father, and friend — Bishop Dr. Josiah Thuku Kambutu. On Sunday, June 3rd, 2018, family, friends, church members, and community leaders will gather at 5514 Alma Lane, Suite #301, Springfield, Virginia. They will honor his life and legacy at a special 1st Anniversary Memorial Service. They will truly celebrate the life that was Bishop Kambutu’s.
Bishop Kambutu was more than a church leader — he was a shepherd with a heart deeply devoted to his flock. A man of unwavering faith and humble strength, his ministry touched countless lives, both locally and globally. He was known for his deep compassion, wise counsel, and unshakable commitment to the Gospel. Through decades of service, he built not just a church, but a community rooted in love, service, and spiritual growth. It is fitting, in this 1st Anniversary, that we continue celebrating the life he led.
Under his leadership, the House of Fellowship Church of God became a beacon of hope — a sanctuary for those seeking spiritual nourishment and direction. His sermons were marked by clarity, conviction, and love. His actions reflected a life lived fully for Christ. We continue celebrating, on this 1st anniversary, the life and light he brought into the hearts of many.
This first anniversary is not merely a moment of mourning, but a celebration of a life lived with purpose and faith. It is a time to reflect, to remember, and to recommit ourselves to the values he so fervently championed: humility, unity, servant leadership, and unrelenting faith in God. Indeed, the 1st Anniversary is a time for celebrating the life he led so passionately.
The service, which begins at 10:30 AM, will include praise and worship, reflections from family and church members, and moments of prayer and thanksgiving. It is open to all who knew Bishop Kambutu or were touched by his ministry. His legacy lives on in the lives he impacted — in every soul he led to Christ. He comforted every heart and held every hand in prayer. As we celebrate this life, we cherish each moment of this 1st Anniversary.
As we mark this milestone, we do so with both tears and thanksgiving — mourning our loss, but rejoicing in the gift that was Bishop Dr. Josiah Thuku Kambutu. This 1st Anniversary truly celebrates the life he lived with such grace.
