Video of a man who was arrested and taken to court after he was accused of possession of Marijuana worth Ksh1000 has gone viral.
The man, Edward Njeru Njue, caused a lot of laughter during the court proceedings after he started hitting on a female cop who was standing next to him.
In the video, the Njue is seen trying to defend himself when the magistrate asked him if he was indeed found in possession of Marijuana.
He responded by saying that the only reason he was arrested is because he could not pay the bribe asked by the police.
The magistrate told him to await his hearing, saying that he might not have been using on that day. Njue however turns and starts whispering to the cop.
There was a lot of laughter after the accused turned to the magistrate and told her that he did not hear what she said since he was talking to the cop.
“Madam sijasikia…” he said. When the magistrate asked him what he heard, he responded by saying “nilikuwa naongea na madam namwambia yeye hana sura mbaya,” to which the magistrate agreed saying “Ehh huyo ni mrembo sana.”
Njue is later seen standing and waiting to hear the final word from the magistrate. He was told that he would have to spend one more day in jail.
More laughter is heard when he asked the magistrate to help him with money for food to which the magistrate responded and said “mimi nakupeleka huko mahali utapewa chakula ya serikali, (I am taking you to a place where you will be provided by government food).”
