Duped by agents, 9 Kenyan nationals stranded in BahrainWoman who killed husband by chopping his genitals arraigned: A Nakuru Court has ordered a woman who allegedly attacked and assaulted her husband to death detained.

Senior Principal Magistrate Lilian Arika ordered the suspect, Naomi Njoki, to be detained for 14 days as police probe the death of her husband David Njungu.โ€œThe murder suspect is to remain in custody for 14 days at Bondeni Police Station as investigations into the murder case proceed,โ€ ordered Ms. Arika.

She also allowed the detention of the suspect pending a post-mortem report on the body of the deceased.โ€œThe detention pends a post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death.

The suspect is to be presented in court on August 19 or earlier without fail if murder charge is preferred against her.โ€MsbArika made an order following a miscellaneous application by the investigating officer Elly Ouma.

Ouma told court that they had not concluded the investigations into the cause of death of Njungu and that he needed 14 days to do so.

He said that a post-mortem test had not been done and it was a vital document to ascertain the cause of death and relate it to the suspect.โ€œThe family of the deceased is organizing for the post-mortem test to be done. I pray for court to allow the accused be detained for two weeks,โ€ said Ouma.

The suspect who did not object to the detention said that she could not remember when she was arrested. She however told court that she was aware that her husband had died.

The suspect is said to have chopped off her husbandโ€™s manhood at their home in Free Area Estate on August 3.

Neighbours who responded to the man’s cries say they found him lying on the floor in a pool of blood.The deceased, 52, was nursing injuries at the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital after the attack but succumbed to the injuries.

Dr Joseph Mburu, who attended to the deceased upon his examination said that the deceased suffered injuries on some parts of his body like his head, face and legs were swollen with a section of genitals cut.
