While still in the Land of Lincoln, we met some more students at Illinois State University and had a candid conversation with them about their paths toward paid internships.
It elates one to hear them talk about American culture, their studies, the food, and, most importantly, their experiences with the American Dream thus far. This includes paid internships they have secured.
Kelvin Ongaga and Jackson Omushien are still students at this prestigious university. Additionally, Elosy Kagwiria recently graduated in a spectacular commencement ceremony. They all pursued internships even before graduation.
They are leveraging the opportunities they get in this land excellently and smartly. This summer, Jackson is working a summer internship that pays him a decent $18 per hour. Having a paid internship is already a significant step for him.

I am a former international student in USA and I am a senior IT consultant in the areas of Oracle EBS Financials and Robotics Process Automation (RPA) here in USA. I am the programs director of Appstec America – A consulting company based in Tampa, Florida, USA. During my student years, I also had a paid internship.
