The Kenyan-born pastor, educator, and community advocate says his campaign is rooted in service, strong family values, and practical leadership for all residents of District 25.
A Pastor Turned Public Servant
Pastor Nick Oloo is not entering the race as a career politician. Instead, he describes himself as a servant leader motivated by years of ministry, education work, and grassroots community engagement.
“I am running for Washington State Representative in District 25 because I believe in service, opportunity, and strong families,” Oloo said in his campaign announcement.
Drawing from his experience as a pastor and educator, Oloo says he understands the everyday challenges facing families in Washington State — including:
- Rising cost of living
- Traffic congestion and transportation concerns
- Education funding and quality issues
- Economic uncertainty for working families
Campaign Priorities for District 25
Oloo’s manifesto focuses on practical, community-centered solutions. His campaign platform highlights five key priorities:
- Supporting Working Families
Advocating for policies that ease financial pressure and create economic opportunity. - Strengthening Education
Ensuring schools are well-funded and equipped to prepare students for a competitive future. - Improving Transportation
Addressing traffic congestion and infrastructure needs across District 25. - Protecting Public Safety
Promoting balanced policies that keep neighborhoods safe while building trust within communities. - Ensuring Fair Opportunities for Immigrant Families
Recognizing the contributions of immigrant families — including the growing Kenyan diaspora in Washington — and advocating for fairness, opportunity, and inclusion.
Faith and Public Service
Oloo says his faith plays a central role in his vision for leadership.
“The Bible teaches us to care for the stranger and the neighbor. Protecting hardworking families is not just policy — it is a moral responsibility,” he stated.
While grounded in faith, Oloo emphasizes that he is running to represent the entire community of District 25, regardless of background.
“I am not running to represent one group. I am running to represent the whole community with compassion, unity, and practical leadership.”
Representation and the Kenyan Diaspora
If elected, Pastor Nick Oloo would join a growing number of African and immigrant leaders serving in U.S. public office. His candidacy reflects the increasing civic participation of the Kenyan diaspora in the United States, particularly in states like Washington with diverse and growing immigrant populations.
For many Kenyan-Americans, Oloo’s run symbolizes broader representation and engagement in American democracy.
Call for Community Support
Oloo says he is seeking both votes and grassroots financial support as he campaigns across District 25 ahead of the 2026 election cycle.
“I am not a career politician — I am a servant leader ready to fight for District 25 families every day. I would be honored to earn your vote and support.”
