Mongโ€™ina, 26, who reportedly secured an employment in the foreign country two years ago, has been in jail in the last three months. โ€œWe have now left the issue to the embassies and even the embassy in Bangkok is aware because we have discussed the matter with them,โ€ said Getanda.

Monginaโ€™s sister Jackline Getanda said her younger sister’s two young children who live in Kenya have been affected by their mother’s arrest. โ€œThey lack the motherly love and we think if the case is referred to Kenya they can have an opportunity to meet their mother and share with her,โ€ she said, adding that โ€œWe want the government to intercede in the matter to ensure she is released or her alleged case referred to Kenya.โ€
