The Nairobi Senator Gidion Mbuvi alias Mike Sonko will sponsor over 1,000 fans for the Kenya Versus Nigeria match.
Sonko has said that he will be sponsoring a total of 1, 490 fans to cheer the home team, Harambee Stars during the much awaited clash with the Nigerian Super Eagles.
According to Sonko, the fans to be sponsored will be drawn from all the 85 wards and 17 constituencies that form the Nairobi County.
The Nairobi Senator will sponsor 10 fans from each of the 85 wards making it 850 fans from the wards level.
Sonko will also sponsor a total of 340 fans from the 17 constituencies making Nairobi.
Far from this, Sonko said that he will sponsor that he will sponsor a total of 300 fans from three radio stations namely Radio Citizen, Radio Maisha and Radio Jambo.
Each ticket will cost 300 shillings with the total 1,490 tickets totaling to Ksh 447, 000.
Sonko also promised to give Ksh 1 million to Harambee Stars should they beat Nigeria.
The Nairobi Senator also promised Ksh 200, 000 for every goal scored.
He said that the coordination of county wards will be conducted by the County Reps while at the Constituency levels the Members of Parliament will take charge.
Sonko said that such a move will motivate the Harambee Stars.
