The woman who lost herย husbandย and mother to an apparent-murder suicide is thanking people for their support during the tragedy.
Three days after the deaths of herย family membersJennifer Muriu posted a message on the Facebook page for the Spitfireย Restaurantย that she owned with herย husbandย Ian Muriu. The message also included aphotographย of him and her mother Diana Freeman who were killed July 29 at their Bethlehem home.
โMy LOVE Ian and my MOM will ALWAYS be in my heart and are truly missed soโฆ much,โ Jennifer Muriu wrote. โWe were soโฆ.excited to buy the Spitfireย Restaurantand had soโฆ.many hopes and dreams. We appreciated all of our guests and we were happy you all were becoming our friends.Thank you.โ
Authorities said Friday that the investigation into the deaths is ongoing but signs still point to Ian Muriu shooting his mother-in-law before turning the gun on himself.
Deputies were called to the Walton Drive home by Jennifer Muriu who left after hearing him fire shots. Inside authorities found the 66-year-old Freeman and Muriu dead.
In January the couple purchased theย restaurantย located in the Barrowย CountyAirport from family friends. Since the tragedy numerousย family members, friends and customers have posted messages ofย condolencesย on theย restaurantโs Facebook page.
Barrowย Countyย Airport Authority Chairman Scott Miller also sent a message of support to those affected.
โOur airport community is shocked and saddened of the tragic news concerning Ian and Jennifer,โ Miller said in a statement.ย โOur thoughts andย prayersย are with the families who are burdened with the loss of loved ones.โ
