DP William Ruto address press conference on AU resolutions
The Hague, Netherlands: Deputy President William Ruto is expected to address a major press conference at The Hague.
The press conference will take place at Movenpick hotel, a short distance from the International Criminal Court building at 2.30pm Kenyan time.
Ruto will speak on the resolutions of the African Union summit made over the weekend that their trials should be deferred for at least a year.
However, details of his planned address still remain scanty.
Meanwhile, the third prosecution witness continues with her examination in chief.
Monday, the witness saidย that tension between ODM supporters and their PNU counterparts in the Rift Valley in the lead up to the 2007 presidential polls started a year earlier.
According to the witness who was part of Warembo na Kibaki, a lobby group drumming support for retired President Mwai Kibaki, tension started in 2006.
The witness, a Kikuyu woman who is a victim of the violence that rocked the country said it was nearly impossible to penetrate the outskirts of Eldoret town to campaign for PNU.
โAt first their was no problem but as months went by it was tough on our side,โ she recalled. โThere were some areas and we would be told this is not your territory. Sometimes we would be stoned, sometimes they would block the road that we would not pass.โ
